It seems to be that that is very similar to Facebook only slightly more professional as you enter your work/qualifications. I have to say that it does worry me a bit that any potential employers could look you up on all these sites to check you out. I have a decided not to create an account as it will just another thing to keep up dated.
Explore Library Facebook Pages
Facebook is great to keep in touch which news and events and I have to say that out of all the things other than Flickr this is my favourite as it is so easy to use and all the information is in one place. Very user friendly also it is a fantastic for renewing acquaintances from the past. The UCS has a facebook page which I have just joined so this might be the best way of tapping into their world...
Create a library or personal LibraryThing
This is really great, I think that we could use it in the Library to show students all the new books that have arrived as it is quite eye catching and they might actually look at it. The fact that you can also add a classmark would be really useful too. At the moment we send the new accessions lists via email, but I do think that this would be an more appealing way to send out the information. I will speak to the Librarian and see what she thinks and then hopefully get something in place for the start of term.
Explore Library Thing
This is a very useful resource if you have a small collection of books that you need to catalogue and it is fantastic that it is so cheap. It is also very clear and eye catching and looks fairly easy to use and is not full up of too much information that is not relevant.
Reflection week
I have greater knowledge of what is out there on the web and can also understand how they would be useful, but I have to say that at the moment I am totally lost as to why use so many things to do the same job... Surely it would be better to just have all your information in one place to avoid confusion. I think that what I need to do is speak to fellow CAM 23 participants and see how they are using some of the programmes and then decide how we might be able to use them in here. The best thing that I would recommend anyone to use would be flicker as it a great resource and at times could save you loads of time taking your own photographs.

Explore Delicious
This a really useful tool and I am just thinking that perhaps we could have a delicious page stored somewhere on our Library homepage to hi-light useful sites like e-books etc. as then that way the student's might actually take notice. It would then save us having to keep sending them emails (which I don't think they always read) as we could add the information to delicious.

Explore Slideshare
This is really good, it will be very useful when it comes to creating presentations to get an idea of what to do. Not had time to explore finding any other sites that might be useful to fellow Librarians as really busy at work this week. Will have a go though, when things are a bit calmer.

Using Images
This is a really useful resource and has some stunning images on it which will be useful for all aspects of my work. The only thing that I am bit concerned about it the copyright of the images so will have to double check before using any of them, otherwise what a great piece of kit!

Exploring Flickr
WOW! Flickr is great, it will be fantastic when it comes to adding pictures to handouts and when we have to do displays. The only problem that I am still having is that I cannot work out how to add RSS feeds to my IGoogle page. I have followed the instructions, but it still does not work and I have even tried typing in a URL. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?

Tagging
I have to admit, that I have been completely foxed by this tagging buisness and am not really sure what I am supposed to do. Will have to speak to friends about it to see if they know, one reply I did have was 'Is tagging not the thing they do to criminals!' LOL so that was not much help.

This tweeting business is quite good fun, it seems a bit like facebook and it will be interesting to see if I get any followers. I had a bit of difficulty in finding other CAM23 participants, but managed to find a few via individuals so that is the only problem that I had.

Google Calendar
This was really good and it would be a great way for members of staff in our Library to share a calendar as we have thought about using outlook for it, but I think that this might be easier. It was very easy to use and the instructions were very clear.
Doodle
I thought that this was a really good way on arranging a meeting, it was straight forward to use and I can see that in a big organisation it would be very useful. Roll on my reply, just hope that it has worked.

IGoogle
Not sure if I have done this correctly, as I was getting a bit confused as what I was supposed to be doing. Is it just a way to show everyone how pretty my IGoogle page looks? I am sure that given time it will all become clear after all it is only week 2. Looking forward to what next week brings and linking up with other CAM 23 Bloggers.
First Blogg!!!
What I hope to get out CAM 23 is a greater understanding of the World Wide Web as I am begining to feel that technology is passing me by...
I have been on many Web 2.0 courses, but have to admit that not much sunk in so it is great to be able to explore what is out there with what so far appears to be a very user friendly course.
Happy Blogging!
